Need To Know Parking, Boarding, and Accomodations

Parking and boarding for the End of Harvest Train takes place at 900 W C Owen Ave, Clewiston, FL 33440. Detailed parking and boarding instructions are emailed to you with your ticket confirmation.

Accommodations

Due to its historic design, Sugar Express is not ADA-accessible. The excursion cars feature steep steps, narrow hallways and doorways, and small restrooms, which may pose challenges for guests with limited mobility. Passengers with limited mobility need to be aware of these limitations and should expect such situations, and should contact us for planning and accommodations.

Safety

Due to the unique railroad environment passengers travel in, all guests must wear sturdy, comfortable shoes, and should not wear flip-flops, sandals, or open-toed or high-heeled shoes. Boarding and detraining sites may have uneven footing, large heavy gravel, and high steps, and walking is required at all locations. By purchasing and attending, you agree to review and accept our terms and conditions at the link below.

Clewiston America's Sweetest Town

Sugarcane is a giant grass that thrives in South Florida’s sunshine, abundant rainfall and fertile muck soils. Each stalk contains more than 70% water, and the rest is 10-15% sugar and fiber. It has a 12- to 15-month growing cycle and is planted annually between September and January and harvested between late September and late May.

Sugarcane is considered one of the most environmentally friendly crops because it requires minimal fertilizer and pesticides. Cane gets most of what it needs from the region’s rich, moist soil and abundant sunshine. Not only do our fields of sugarcane produce food, they also provide valuable habitat for wildlife.
