This April, US Sugar steam locomotive no. 148 will be backdated to reflect its in-service look for the Florida East Coast Railway in the 1940s throughout the weekend. Tickets are $575.00 per person and space is limited.
This photo event will feature the locomotive operating both in freight and passenger train service throughout 100 miles of the South Central Florida Express system and include night photos, sweeping curves, lush green fields, cane loading stations, vintage automobiles, historic trestles, bridges, and stations, and South Central Florida hospitality. Additional details will be enclosed with your purchase.
Primary boarding for photographers will be at our shop facility 900 W C Owen Ave in Clewiston, Florida. The train will be serviced and stationed at our shop on April 19th for informal photos and a traditional night photo session is planned for April 20th. These will be two full days of operations from sun up to sun down on April 20th and from sun up until late afternoon/early evening on April 21st.
Guests must make their own lodging and travel accommodations. Attendees will be transported to photo locations on board the train for the event.
We can recommend lodging at the new Hampton Inn in Clewiston and the nearby Holiday Inn Express. Clewiston is approximately 1 hour and 33 minutes from Miami International and 1 hour and 13 minutes from Southwest Florida International in Fort Myers.

Due to its historic nature, Sugar Express is not ADA-accessible. Cars used on excursions feature steep steps, narrow hallways, and doorways, as well as small restrooms which can present challenges for guests with limited mobility. Photo charters and photo shoot areas take place in remote outdoor areas with uneven footing and warm, sunny climates and wildlife. Please be prepared with appropriate footwear, long sleeves, long pants, and sunscreen.
